The Directorate of Teachers Training Institution in Sindh is a vital organization responsible for enhancing the quality of education in the province. With its jurisdiction spanning across the entire province of Sindh, the Directorate oversees 30 institutions that offer various Pre-Service Teacher Training Program, B.Ed. Four Year Degree Program.
We've a total of 46 TTI Institutions that are working under the Directorate of Teachers Training Institutions Sindh, Hyderabad that offer In-Service Teacher Training. Few of them also offer Certifications like Oriental Teaching Certificates. The process of starting B.Ed. (1.5years) and B.Ed. (2.5years) programs along with the affiliation of universities has also been initiated.
The Government National Agro-Technical Teacher Training Centre also offers the same Bachelor of Education (Honours) Elementary Four-Year Degree Programs in affiliation with University of Sindh and hosts different Ins-service Training Programs. The Government Normal Drawing Centre offers Art Teaching Certificate course primarily to In-service teachers and to general public in affiliation with relevant Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education. The Government In-Service Teacher Training Centre primarily offers professional development short courses for In-service teachers and also offers the same Bachelor of Education (Honours) Elementary Four-Year Degree Programs in affiliation with University of Sindh.
The Regional Education Extension Centre Karachi holds the Mandate of providing support to the GECEs and DETRCs in extending the capabilities and resources. The Divisional and District Education Technology Resource Centres are the main hub for providing technological assistance to all GECEs and its allied institutions that includes audio visual resources, soft and hard ware technologies in conjunction with the School Education & Literacy Department.
The first training college was established in 1854 at Hyderabad and then two (02)Regional Education Extension Center (REEC) were established in 1964 @, Karachi and Khairpur. In 1970 (Education Policy, 1970,) the Directorate of Education Extension and Specialized Services (In-Service Teachers Training and Education of Special Children) was came in existence. In 1972 (Under Education Policy 1972-78), the nomenclature changed in the Bureau of Curriculum & Extension Wing, and the administrative control was handed over to the Bureau of Curriculum & Extension Wing Sindh Jamshoro. After School Education and Curriculum Act 2014. Separation from defunct BCEW, two wings were created in 2017.
